The Customer's Dilemma

H H Saudi Research & Marketing is the largest publisher in the Arabic speaking world. The principal activities of the company is the publication of high quality newspapers and magazines. This also includes the provision of information services and the distribution of newspapers.

H H Saudi Research & Marketing editors/journalists were using a number of different systems for text news, photos and graphics browsing. This meant that in some cases the user had to use more than 1 system for finding news of interest that could then be used in their newspaper or magazines.

H H Saudi Research & Marketing were looking for a news management system that supported text news (Latin/Arabic), Photos and graphics all using a single software application. Since most of their DTP software was Apple Mac OS based, the new system should also have the option to output news in formats supported by the Apple Mac OS. Another key requirement was access to news via Internet browser applications for local as well as remote users over their WAN.

The Solution

Transtel supplied Saudi Research & Marketing with the NewsManager^TM application.
Transtel NewsManager^TM was able to integrate all of the news being received by Saudi Research & marketing offices in London, Riyadh and Jeddah in to a single system installed at each location and the news was made available to all of their users via a single software application.

Saudi Research & Marketing were immediately able to meet their most important objective - the ability to access all types of news via a single solution and then output this news in their desired format for use in other applications.

Saudi Research & Marketing had a Wide Area network which allowed their users to access other NewsManager^TM systems in the event of a failure on their local system.

The day-to-day support was made much easier for the support engineers as they did not have to worry about several different systems.
